This Long Island native has performing in her DNA. Carrie's mother is a trained opera singer and her father...well, he knows how to lip sync. Carrie made her theatrical debut at two weeks old, playing baby Jesus in her church's Christmas pageant. She then took a five year hiatus to learn how to walk, talk, and accomplish all those other milestones youngsters strive for before returning to the theatre as a member of Fagan's gang in OLIVER! Since then Carrie has constantly been performing whether it was through school, church, Girl Scouts, camp, or the young people's theatre (YPT) program at a local Long Island theatre. Growing up she played a wide range of roles from Dorothy in THE WIZARD OF OZ to Jacob in JOSEPH... In addition to musicals, Carrie grew up singing in the choir which led to her selection as a New England Ambassador of Music. Through this program Carrie was a member of a mixed chamber choir who traveled to Europe and performed in five countries.
A summer college intensive program at Ithaca College inspired Carrie to not only study musical theatre in college, but also public relations which propelled Carrie to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College on scholarships for academics and performance. A small liberal arts college, Wesleyan gave Carrie the opportunity to learn through experience. If she wasn't in a show, she was learning to promote it. Carrie graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Musical Theatre, a BA in Public Relations and an Honors minor.
Since graduation Carrie has had the privilege to perform all over the country in musicals, children's theatre, and outdoor drama. She's also worked as an actor-educator for CLIMB Theatre and Theatre West Virginia and in the marketing department for Asolo Repertory Theatre and Theatre West Virginia. Currently she's the Marketing Associate for Weathervane Theatre and Director of Development for Out of the Box Theatrics.
When being interviewed for admission to West Virginia Wesleyan College, one of Carrie's future professors asked her where she saw herself in five years. Her response? "Making people smile." Carrie is constantly smiling herself as theatre gives her the opportunity to make that vision a reality with every performance.
